One of Steve’s major accomplishments is that most businesses within the basement and crawl space industry have now adopted his best practices, which have become a standard for protecting homeowners. Steve and his colleagues designed the GrateDrainTM System and related items to provide a high-performance basement/crawl space drainage system. Steve has 14 patents for items that protect basements and crawl spaces from water and moisture.

Steve continues to innovate. Steve intended to fully automate the GrateDrain System to detect and fix problems before they happened. The iBasementTM Advanced Pump Controller was designed by Steve's team from the ground up, which means five engineering generations. (Hardware, software, firmware) Steve resourced a design team with 50 years of mixed-signal design and control experience and formal and practical education. IBT recognized IOT first. Steve's team created one of the first successful IOT devices before it became an industry standard.

Steve and his team maximized their microcontrol skills, resulting in great performance, cost savings, and fewer delays. The iBasementTM System will protect the owner’s basement and crawl space from calamities.

A Wisconsin homeowner faced losing her home after a nearby lake rose 10 feet, flooding her basement. A homeowner's contractor called Grate Products LLC. Steve and his coworkers found the contractor who saved the homeowner's home by keeping the basement dry.

In South Coast, Massachusetts, a couple's basement was flooded with 2 ft of water and rising. Firefighters had to pump out the water.
