Laurie Wallace, owner of Bob Wallace Excavating Ltd., joined the company in 2012, working alongside her husband. The duo worked for the new Bob Wallace Excavating Company. Laurie brings over 35 years of business administration and office management experience, working in downtown for top executives in the oil and gas industry. This experience has been a true asset to the success of Bob Wallace Excavating.

 

As a leader, I believe it is important to grasp and maintain a high quality of goals and expectations, says Laurie. As a combination of my own hard work and determination, along with my ability to focus on the finer points, I've always been successful. Our company, Bob Wallace Excavating, has just recruited an HR consulting team to help us manage and execute new processes and procedures in order to boost productivity and income. This is a long-term project, with the goal of getting our COR Safety program done soon, says Laurie.

We've always maintained a competitive price for both homeowners and contractors. We want to make their projects as economical as possible, all while giving the best possible results. Laurie says Bob Wallace has been in the demolition and excavating industry for 46 years, and we have won five Consumers' Choice Awards in the past five years, something which makes us proud, says Laurie.

We pride ourselves on offering clients a one-stop shop for all services needed for a stress-free project completion, including: Asbestos, Permitting, Demolition, Excavation, and Backfill Services. Introducing an Asbestos and Permitting Service has increased the customer's value in their building process, saving them time and money.

 

Due to the fact that our family business has been around for so long, we were in serious need of modern machinery and automation. In light of the current economic climate, we were apprehensive about undertaking such time-consuming and costly projects. We weren't sure if these moves were smart. Bob Wallace's father had always hoped that his son would carry on the family business, and his son has fulfilled that wish. It has worked out well, and I know that Bob's father would be very proud today, explains Laurie.

To ensure that every project is managed and completed to the greatest standards of client satisfaction, the company specializes in demolition and excavation. Job management is governed by detailed internal policies and processes.

WCB compliance and job site safety are also major priorities for the organization, and we have an excellent track record for both. In addition, the company is currently working on our COR Safety Program making us more marketable and competitive and allowing for increased revenue opportunities.

In addition to the company, Paige Wallace, Laurie’s daughter was also a tandem driver for the organization upon starting. Paige graduated from business school and now works as an office administrator/project assistant for the company.

The firm is also supported by a number of long-term employees and contractors. Bob Wallace Excavating is fortunate to have Nick Weal on board. In the field, he is our Field Operations Manager/Customer Service Representative. He is in charge of all of our field activities, including daily meetings with builders and customers, says Laurie.
