As stated by Jeff Lassen, CEO of Rite Way Transport Group, they provide a "fully managed logistics solution" for thousands of auto and heavy equipment dealers across the United States. They make it possible to move thousands of cars per week. Flatbed and other freight, including lumber, tiles, produce, frozen seafood, chemicals, alcohol, steel, and many more commodities, are the specialties of their freight division.
In his opinion, leaders should put their personal lives on the back burner and focus solely on their team. Lassen says to be successful one must work like a complete animal and really “want” it. Jeff was always the first one in and the last one to leave. He always led with true empathy and compassion.
Jeff would get to know every single person on the staff on a personal level that had nothing to do with business. He made it clear that whatever they needed in life, they should come to him first. He made damn sure every single person, including the cleaning crew, felt appreciated, knew that he was genuine, and knew that he worked for them.
Rite Way's strong culture serves as its foundation. In fact, Jeff believes they have moved far beyond global culture and are more like a family. People perform way better when they know they can be themselves, don't have to be careful what they say, and have job stability. He also has an "open door" policy and his staff has direct access to the CEO at all times! Jeff adds that because his employees can always get in touch with the CEO and their board of directors personally, they are completely empowered to fix issues. They don't have to wait for management to respond to an email or "drop a ticket." They simply jump up and get engaged as soon as something happens, and they tackle every problem as a team with the intention of finishing it that same day. "Amazing things take place as a result of the team feeling at ease." "If they truly believe that the CEO and the entire company have their backs outside of the office, they will break down doors for you, and you will get the best performance out of everyone," says Jeff.
With respect to their development in business, he has invested considerably in their own proprietary technology called Load Genie, which is their special sauce. Simply put, Load Genie has altered every aspect of how their business operates; it allows them to move loads faster than anyone in the United States. They click a button, and the software takes on a life of its own and actually matches customers loads to one of their thousands of carriers. Clients and carriers have access to their own portals where they can book loads, notify them of damage or issues, view their payables, and most importantly, watch their freight move across the country with LIVE TRACKING. It is loaded with automation and artificial intelligence to make the turn-around time on moving loads insanely fast and transparent to their clients. They have at last addressed the industries complaint about the lack of visibility throughout the shipping process. They now have it thanks to Load Genie, along with the automatic status updates that each and every client adores.
Jeff asserts that they have a very bright future, as they have just purchased the building next door to their corporate office, demolished the wall, and added a full gym, Rite Way University for non-stop training, and 22 more stations to onboard more representatives as the company continues to experience rapid growth. In twenty-four months, they are projected to generate 75 million per year. They are expanding rapidly in both their freight and heavy hauling departments. They recruited some of the top names in the industry to lead these divisions, and the results have been phenomenal. They intend to grow their freight division and establish locations in all time zones. The next locations they will open are in Tennessee, Arizona, and Tampa, and they have already started talking with brokers to get office space because they own all of their real estate.
They are listed as number 65 among the top 100 Companies in America to work for by Fortune. They are also recognized as a "Great Place to Work" and have won countless other awards.
Jeff relates, "We are known as America's Fastest Logistics Solution." "We are not the cheapest; we are the quickest, and we give the visibility that the industry has craved for so many years."
