Lawn Care Distributors sells outdoor power equipment, parts, and accessories. David is always looking for ways to be a positive influence on his coworkers, no matter how big or small their accomplishments may be. Since our business is wholesale distribution of lawn and garden equipment, we are always looking for aspiring young people.

My company's productivity and profitability have improved dramatically since I surrounded myself with a team of dedicated, trustworthy employees and department managers who are well-versed in areas where I am not. We've found that treating everyone with respect, regardless of their socioeconomic level, has helped us build our business. Taking criticism in stride can be good for me as a person and for my business, opines David.

I encourage our sales team to place emphasis on the key selling points of the products we sell. We recognize the competition, but we encourage our sales team to focus on the quality benefits our products offer to improve the lives of customers. "I stress the importance of fast, friendly service to our customers," says David.

It has always been a challenge to provide satisfactory lawn and garden maintenance equipment for the urban homeowner. Gasoline powered equipment is more difficult to start and maintain for a customer with smaller lawns and gardens, requiring less equipment use. The use of ethanol fuel created complications in fuel injection and carburetor systems.

By partnering with an Italian company, we can provide homeowners with low-maintenance, battery-powered equipment. Among the advantages are: Batteries are interchangeable with all the equipment we provide; there's no need for gasoline or oil; and the equipment emits no carbon dioxide. This is a rapidly growing market in which we are seeing significant sales growth. By working hard to grow our product line, I added two more product lines to our distribution network. This gives our dealers more products to sell, asserts David.

Our marketing territory grew from 3 to 13 northeastern states, says David. With more area and revenues, we may buy shipping containers directly from overseas producers, boosting our profits. In the current unstable economy, we're expanding dealer payment terms. Customers can see our items at regional shows in the fall.

With improved technological advances, battery powered handheld equipment and small lawn mowers have become great options for the urban homeowner in our Northeastern U.S. marketing territory, adds David.
